Joel Reardon is a PhD student at the ETH Zurich. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Waterloo. His Master's thesis work was on the system performance analysis of Tor, working towards making it a faster system for users. He's PhD thesis research is into data deletion: how to ensure data that needs to be deleted can be securely done.

It has come to my attention that not everyone is aware of the incredibly useful tool latexdiff which generates a beautifully annotated logical diff of two latex files, itself a tex file, that can be then turned into a pdf which looks exactly like the original document where additions are in blue and removals are in red. This save immeasurable time when performing rounds of edits and is extremely valuable to co-authors who are not actively making the edits. If you use debian/ubuntu: `apt-get install latexdiff`. Then `latexdiff old.tex new.tex > diff.tex`. It is itself just a perlscript so it should support other platforms, you can find it here.
